Problem
On the same local network, chatting or sharing a file still depends on internet services and central servers. They require accounts, add latency, and keep copies of your data.
Solution
A serverless mesh: peers discover and talk to each other directly over TCP/UDP sockets. A multithreaded Java NIO architecture handles messages and file transfers at the same time without blocking.
How it works
- Step 01Peers discover each other on the LAN (UDP)
- Step 02Direct TCP connections, no central server
- Step 03Non-blocking multithreaded messaging and file transfer (Java NIO)
- Step 04Private rooms held only in memory
Product
Peer Link: a serverless LAN chat and file-sharing platform with private virtual rooms held in volatile memory, so communication stays isolated and no user data persists.
Key features
- Serverless peer-to-peer architecture
- Simultaneous chat and file transfers without blocking
- Private virtual rooms
- Zero persistent user data
